2016 Spring Camporee

Good ol' Paul Bunyan was the inspiration for this year's Spring Camporee in Founders District. It was fitting because scouts were flipping flapjacks and sawing wood like there was no tomorrow. The leaders of Troop 888 and one of our Boy Scouts, Arthur Payne traveled to Woodstock, IL to help staff the event. Between the relaxing time in the brisk spring weather and the awesome tomahawk and throwing knife range, I would say the event was a huge success. Nobody got hurt, everyone had fun, and the troops attending cooked their hearts out in the dutch over cook-off. The event faded off into the evening with raging campfires and restful sleep for the journey home in the morning. Can't wait for the Fall when the theme is zombies, maybe Paul Bunyan will come back from the dead to pay the camporee another visit!
